The Coming Storm | Fortnite

Square

Remember when Fortnite was going to be just another wave survival game? Now it’s a Battle Royale cultural phenomenon, but kept the most iconic part of the original survival game: The Storm. We’re celebrating those roots with a cocktail made of vodka, fruit juices and parfait amour, topped off with whipped egg white clouds. Dangerous.

The Coming Storm

You’ll need

  • 1 oz citrus vodka
  • 0.5 oz parfait amour
  • 0.25 oz apple juice
  • 0.25 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.75 oz lemon juice
  • Egg white

Method

Add the vodka, apple juice, pineapple juice and lemon juice to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously to chill. Strain out the ice. Add the egg white. Shake vigorously again. This method is known as the reverse dry shake.

Add the parfait amour to a martini glass. Layer the shaken cocktail over the top, allowing the foam to rise to the top. Serve!

The original recipe of this cocktail is based on the Fruit Pastel, but I wanted the parfait amour to dominate a little more heavily. I also wanted some more interesting tropical notes to come through, so I swapped some of the fruit juices around for pineapple.

Sipping this drink is just like dropping down from the battle bus. You’ve got to burst through the pineapple cream and egg white clouds, down through the sweet-and-sour apple and lemon, then you finally get to the ground in the form of the thick purple parfait amour.

Sweet as a chicken dinner (what a weird combination of words), but with a kick that would put a Slurp Juice to shame. The perfect beverage for a post-win celebration, or a post-loss consolation prize. The fact that it tastes dangerously close to a fruit pastel is just a bonus.

Variations

Moisty Mire

Replace the vodka with gin.

Loot Lake

Replace the parfait amour with blue curacao.
