A pretty drink with a gross name, constructed from tangelo, lime, blue curacao and tequila.
You’ll need
- 20ml tequila blanco
- 10ml blue curacao
- 30ml fresh unfiltered tangelo juice
- 5ml lime juice
Add the tangelo and lime juice to a shot glass. Make sure the pulp is still in. Mix the tequila blanco and blue curacao together and carefully layer over the back of a spoon on top of the lime/tangelo mix. Serve!

Guns, Love and Tentacles, the latest DLC for Borderlands 3, does what it says on the tin. There are guns. There is love. And boy howdy, there sure are some tentacles.
And far more importantly, there are drinks.
After a slightly bumpy landing on the freezing planet of Xylourgos, players eventually make their way to The Lodge, where their adventure—and our mixological inspiration—truly begins.

The Lodge offers a roaring fire, a safe harbour for heroes and, of course, drinks, with appropriate names like Lodger Dodger, Moxxie’s Locks and, my personal favourite and the subject of this recipe, the Corpsegrinder.
The Corpsegrinder is a blue-topped, orange-bottomed shot that I assume earns its name from its texture rather than its colour. That’s why we’re specifically using pulpy tangelo juice here, with a little lime to cut back on the sweetness.
The layering was another challenge, as the only widely available blue alcohol is blue curacao, which tends to be very heavy because of all the sugar in it. Try to layer that, and it’ll just float to the bottom. We encouraged it back to the top by mixing it with the less dense tequila first.
It’s sweet, it’s simple, it’s got a bit of a twist on the established shot experience. I can’t say it’s how Mancubus would make it—I don’t think we’re ever going to get many mixology tips out of that guy—but it looks good, tastes great and always drags you back for more. Cheers!
