There’s only one cocktail an adventurer reaches for when the healer is out of spell slots or just pissed at them: The Potion of Healing.
You’ll need
- 1 oz (30ml) white rum
- .50 oz (15ml) coconut rum
- 1.5 oz (45ml) orange juice
- 1.5 oz (45ml) cranberry juice
- .50 oz (15ml) lemon juice
- Raspberry cordial
- Pearl lustre dust (optional)
Add all ingredients except the raspberry cordial and lustre dust to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until chilled. Strain into your vessel, then add raspberry cordial to taste. Stir in pearl lustre dust and swirl. Serve!
“Uh… guys… there are, like, sixteen healing potions in this room. Anybody else concerned about what’s behind the big locked door?”
Paladin Sharna the Wise, to her adventuring party.
My first ever Dungeons & Dragons character was a paladin and the only healer in the party. This meant that when he was knocked unconscious, everybody scrabbled for the healing potions. They would, at least, had we ever had any on us. Too much reliance on Lay On Hands.
All those blows to the head eventually resulted in him dying. Thankfully, we had a sp00ky doll that brought him back with a few new scars, but otherwise his normal, gruff self. And we learned an important lesson: never go adventuring without a healer, health potions, or better yet, both.

The recipe above is a swirling, fruity bombshell of a cocktail that has the iconic bright crimson along with a creamy coconut fullness that will put a smile on your face even in the face of imminent character death.
Here’s to not needing to roll a new character. Cheers!

Hey I really love your content so far, I have just one question. Where did you get the container for the health potion?? I’ve been looking everywhere for a similar one and can’t seem to find anything but round bottles.
Sorry to say that I found it in a charity shop, so I can’t point anywhere specific. You might get lucky with some quirky glassware in your local hospice/charity place too.
