“I see you, Godwoken.”

Source from Divinity Original Sin 2 is a powerful, mystical substance that drives an enormous amount of the action in the game – and yet we’re left without much knowledge of what is really is. Or at least, I am, considering I’ve only got halfway through the game so far.

No spoilers please.

When making a drink on it, all we’ve got is that it lets you use powerful abilities and that iconic blue-ish green-ish black of the substance itself. Not much to work with, but we make do.

To recreate Source, I went through a lot of options: tall, short, strong, sour, sweet, bitter. I settled on the simple shooter for one simple reason. It lends itself to a drinking game, which I think is perfect for DOS2. Here’s why:

One of my favourite things about DOS2 is the multiplayer aspect. You and a bunch of friends can jump into what is essentially a game of online DnD at a moment’s notice and have a huge amount of fun systematically destroying this shared world. And the only way to make such a situation even more fun? Form a drinking game around it.

The rules are very simple: any time you get a Source point in game, make a Source shooter. Anytime you use one, you gotta shoot it back.

That’s why this drink isn’t super strong – it’s intended to be drank multiple times over the course of a long gaming session, and you don’t want to get sozzled too early on. It’s also got a bit of caffeine in there from the energy drink to keep your mind alert too, as well as represent the Source giving your character a little bit of extra ‘fizz’. But no, no matter how many Red Bull’s you drink down in real life, you won’t be able to toss meteors at your enemies. Sorry!

Sweet but not too insipid, this shot powers you up as you drink it down. Best shared among your party members. Cheers!
