Distract the enemy or piss off your friends with the tequila slammer inspired Flashbang. Don’t worry; this one won’t make you go blind.
You’ll need:
- 1.50 oz (45ml) tequila reposado
- .50 oz (15ml) applejack
- .75 oz (20ml) lime juice
- .25 oz (10ml) blue Curacao
- Champagne
Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously to chill. Strain into multiple shot glasses, about half way. Top up with champagne. Slam the drinks to mix. Serve!
“Rush B.”

The humble flashbang grenade: is there any item more universally loved and reviled in any competitive multiplayer game? Used correctly, and it’s a surefire way to distract (if not outright cripple) your opponent and set them up for the kill.
Used incorrectly, it does more damage to your own team than it does to the enemy.
While a lot of games have flashbangs among their inventories, I felt like they were particularly iconic for CS:GO. It’s a game where even the smallest advantage can make the difference between a complete whitewash of a game and decently competitive play—and often that small advantage takes the form of someone who knows how to use a flashbang correctly.
Like your tequila? Try our riff on a classic margarita with the Frog Boot from RUST.
This drink riffs on that whole idea through a variant of the tequila slammer: a deceptively tasty shot-style drink that comes with a highly theatrical “bang” as part of the process of drinking it.
You see, tequila has a bad rap: it is often seen as the “student drink”; a spirit that is sent to the sidelines whenever “adulting” is on the agenda for a night out. It’s only used for one reason: to get royally fucked up.
The flashbang often gets the same treatment; it’s too hard to use effectively, and you’ll get chewed out by your teammates if you misuse it and end up getting everyone wiped.
I thought that was unfair, both to the flashbang and to tequila. So this Flashbang beverage is the result of my tinkering to find a way to make a more palateable, slightly more upscale version of a slammer.
In many ways, it’s much the same as the traditional Tequila Slammer—though the soda water is replaced with champagne, and it has the addition of blue curacao and applejack to add some colour and flavour (and some lime to balance out the sweetness).
One important thing to note is the use of tequila reposado rather than blanco. This is integral to the Flashbang: reposado is all about smooth drinking, rather than the far more caustic blanco. Use a good tequila for this one—you’ll thank me when you don’t have a hangover the next day.
So that’s the Flashbang, requested by YouTuber Shtabbbe. Hope you enjoy, and remember: always rush B.
