Extradimensional Invader | Stellaris [VIDEO]

Square

Just when you thought it was safe to get back into space, this gin, curacao, maraschino, lime and bitters beverage teleported directly to your homeworld.

You’ll need

  • 1 oz (30ml) Bombay Sapphire gin
  • .75 oz (20ml) blue Curacao
  • .50 oz (15ml) maraschino liqueur
  • .50 oz (15ml) lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake thoroughly until chilled. Strain into a vessel filled with ice. Garnish with half a lime wheel and a straw. Serve!

So much hatred… so much… fear… it is… wonderful.

– The Unbidden

Here’s a problem that very few grand strategy games have been able to resolve: the Snowball effect. This is a phenomenon that occurs when the player continues to grow and grow in power until they are completely unstoppable by the late game, ultimately resulting in a bland and boring end to your strategic campaign as you curbstomp the shit out of every AI in your way.

Stellaris has found an interesting solution in the form of end-game crises: events that force the player up against a galaxy-ending threat that even the most developed galactic empire would struggle to fight off alone.

These come in three flavours: Tyranid wannabes, iRobot, and spooky electric space ghosts.

Considering how important this mechanic is to Stellaris, it was an obvious choice to draw inspiration from when creating this drink. I decided to create a beverage based around the Unbidden in the end, for the simple reason that they’re my favourite.

Miss the pineapple in this Singapore Sling variation? Try the Warlock from Destiny instead!

The drink itself was originally based on a Singapore Sling, though with a LOT of substitutions and no pineapple juice. Rather than cherry Heering, you get the much less sweet maraschino liqueur. Rather than grenadine, you get some blue curacao. And we just removed the Benedictine entirely.

You end up with a slightly more zingy, slightly less sweet variant of the Sling. Though it’s still certainly a sweet one, it doesn’t feel like you’re going to develop diabetes after a single sip.

Hope you guys enjoy, and remember: developing jump drives is definitely worth the risk of invasion.
