Healing Gourd | Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Square

Knit up the wounds of a long week with this freshly-muddled vodka-infused restorative medicine straight from the belt of Sekiro himself.

You’ll need

  • 1.5 oz (45ml) vodka
  • 8 slices of cucumber
  • .50 oz (15ml) lemon juice
  • Sweet, sparkling Mio sake to top

Muddle the vodka and cucumber together until the cucumber is mostly mush. Strain into a separate glass. Add the lemon juice and ice. Shake. Strain into your chosen vessel and top with sparkling sake. Serve!

“Though it is strange that the gourd’s medicinal waters refill automatically, the seeds within may hold the secret to how it works.”

Every difficult game has its mercies, and in Sekiro, it’s the Healing Gourd. Take a wound in battle and all you have to do is hit that button and slurp back some magic healing water and get back into the fight.

While it isn’t super clear as to what it actually is inside the Healing Gourd (other than the seeds, of course), my own take on that tasty seed juice feels like it has the same restorative properties.

It’s got the vodka for the clean healing touch, the cucumber for the electrolytes, a little lemon to brighten up a dark day and, of course, sake—because it’s Japan ‘n’ shit.

Hope you guys enjoy and that this cocktail helps you work through that tough boss we both know you’re stuck on. Cheers!
